A couple bulls sparing I will add a chip cam below this one to get better pics this cell cam covers 4 cascading wallows the bulls seem to favor the further area but it far from the cell cam. I plan to put cloth blind material in that thicket to the right and a padded seat bucket for different wind changes it’s super thick behind there so little chance of them coming from behind on me.

Second pair of bulls on that cam but identifying them is impossible at that distance. They don’t look like the butt scratcher I’m looking for.

Good picture. When does the season start for you? Are you going opening weekend and stay till you got one arrowed?

Any elk tag but I’m holding out for a nice bull. 48% success rate in that unit.

Next weeks overnight accommodations I’m not paying $100 to sleep in room overnight I’m too cheap. Last of the prep work this trip put up a couple blinds, adjust a camera or two and a treestand to put up, then drop the trailer in the area at a friends place with the 4 wheelers and game cart on it.

You are getting me worked up to go Law. LOL I can go every year but have not the last several. I have been focusing on other things and by the time I get all my other hunts in I don't have time for elk.

Thanks for the updates and your accommodations look great to me.

New pics coming in busted butt for 2 days adjusting cameras, adding a tree stand and 2 more blinds. The first pic the cam was bumped by cattle so I moved it into a triangle of trees pointing out to protect it. Within 2 hours Scar showed up I was surprised because I spent some time there brushing in the blind some more and changed out the chip cam. Seen some nice whitetails bigger than the ones I often see, lots of turkey broods and a yote.

Tree stand is on that big wallow/lake the one branch is a pain but I can work around it no choice so far, it’s an alternate place no bull action on it yet they show up more into the rut to this spot. Did see a nice group or turkey and 3 good whitetails not that far away from here. I’m trying to get my plus one buddy to hunt deer at the same time. (It seems most guys in SD that draw a tag have a plus one to go with them to call, locate or help pack out) some guys have more than a plus one.

Waiting until the 8th might be tough I might slip out even earlier just not doing the holiday weekend and the hot days coming up, it cools off after that. Most of the prep work is finished but there’s always something to do.
