I came home yesterday to half of my mail strewn about my ditch. Now that they deliver Amazon packages, they do whatever it takes not to come up to the house. They keep stuffing mail and packages in until the back of the mailbox opens up and then just keep pushing it in while everything falls out the back. Last time he did it, I was walking out to get it as he drove off. He must have seen me picking it out the ditch and came back to apologize and said he didn’t realize that had happened.

After yesterday, the back of my mailbox no longer opens. I bolted it shut. Now they’ll have to come to the house if it doesn’t all fit.

If it slows any more at the St. Louis distribution center what I order will be antiques by the time I receive them. I had a package sit there a week before delivery should be today. Things come across the county in a few days then sits for a week till they get off from their weekly break

What do you expect from somebody with a lifetime job? They can get caught dumping mail in a ditch and only get a scolding and a promotion!

Some of the free shipping offers ship slowly then the business doesn’t mail it for for a few days I can’t figure that out.

You need a bigger mailbox.

I ordered a dvd from Nebraska off a lady. She mailed it Aug 1st. She sent it without a tracking number. But sent it First Class. On the 18th I told her it had not come yet and she said she did not understand why, but refunded my money to my Paypal account. Then on Mon the 19th it came. It had the postmark Aug 1st just like she said. Then in order to get her money back she had me order another of equal price and me pay by Paypal again and she just never mailed it.

Since it had no tracking on it, I can't say for sure it got hung up at St. Louis but in my mind I know it did. A couple years back if I ordered vitamins or any kind of vet pills that rattled they never made it past St. Louis, seems like that has kinda tapered off lately though.

A PO clerk told me yesterday that companies are paying lots better than the PO now so they're struggling for good workers.

I find it strange that mail coming from about 60 miles away on the east side of the state, goes to some place in Indiana , goes back to the east side of Ohio , and takes 3 days to go the final 25 miles.
That's through their tracking service.

The USPS would be far more efficient and deliver faster if they weren't trying to collect frequent flyer miles on packages they handle. We watch the tracking info on nearly every package coming to us; it's amazing the convoluted paths that some packages take. There have been packages that arrived in our home town post office only to spend 3 more days traveling across eastern Wisconsin and the U.P. before coming back for delivery.

I received an email today from our state DMV that my truck registration needs to be renewed by end of month. I go through the email and find out one of the things I need to have to complete this process through the DMV website is the paper renewal form I never received. Hard to know who to blame for this one, this being an equitably effed up state. crazy

No they won't. They'll do what they do here. Leave a notice for me to come pick it up at the post office.

One of us is wrong ! First class letters don't have tracking nor do you pay for it! I buy lots of seed, o'rings, dvd's and such with no tracking because the cost is less .

I got my dvd and she finally got her money!

First class mail is scanned, you can have the USPS send you a scanned image of mail you are receiving on the day of delivery.

Dropped off a letter at my local post office the other day that needed a stamp. The letter was addressed to a PO Box in the exact same post office, I half joked that the letter will be delivered today, right ? Oh no the mail guy said, they have to send the letter 90 miles away to a central processing site to be counted. Seriously, he said the USPS doesn’t trust the local post offices to accurately count mail. WOW ….
