Does not matter if it effects you. The only question to ask is if it did effect you does it seem like its right. The only thing the Federal government should do is protect us from foreign countries and make sure the states are following the constitution.

There was a guy that wasn't too smart. He had a smarter friend. One day the not so smart one told his friend; I wish I was smarter. What makes you so smart ? Well, I take smart pills. Do you have any extra of those smart pills ? As a matter of fact I do. So he gave his friend a bottle of his smart pills. After taking them a few days and not feeling any smarter he examined the the pills and smelled them. He thought to himself, these pills ain't nothing but rabbit crap pills. He went to his friend and told him that those pills he gave him wasn't nothing but rabbit crap. His friend replied, see there you are getting smarter all ready !

My question is are they going to let you depreciate EVERYTHING that looses value even if it’s not fir a business? That can go both ways. All of a sudden a new vehicle becomes a great investment? House goes up in value. New vehicle goes down

Anyone who thinks this wouldn't affect them; how many of those folks with over $100 million are employers? Hmmm, how might this affect their employees? It is a, stupidly, regressive idea.

As someone who experienced a 5+ million dollar estate tax bill and watched it destroy our family farm/business, if you trust the govt to stop at a 100 million dollar threshold you are a fool. This government is out for all it can grab. That 100 million dollar threshold will be at 50,000 dollars within a very few years.

What in the heck is she proposing? Taxing unrealized gains? Wow.
So if one has an unrealized loss will that be a credit back?
Do you get taxed 2x if you sell and have a realized gain but you’ve already been taxed when it was unrealized?
This is stupid.
Today that tax is deferred and accrued for until it is realized then settled as gain or loss realized.
Going to make me pull my hair out.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

For what its worth when income tax was first passed no one making less than 100,000 a year was taxed. This was time when few made a 1000 a year. How did that work out?

Spot on Danny!!!! Yes tax on an unrealized gain that may or may not happen. It will never end. This tax is a direct attack on capitalism. And complete control of wealth. By the government who want to be kings.

That's what I said. Both sides promote ideas that appeal to their bases and rarely happen. Not stuff to get worked up about, unless one side has a filibuster proof Senate.
