I’ve got a few dozen muskrat stretchers, joined at the bottom but that have hooks made from twisted wire rather than the stamped metal on modern ones.
I’m curious of who the manufacturer of these was, and was this way of holding the skin any good compared to modern stamped hooks.
I can’t seem to find any pictures that are similar to mine.
The closest i’ve seen is a newhouse which isn’t joined at the bottom.
Any ideas?

Yes, they look similar. Who was the manufacturer of this type?
