I just got done dyeing my traps with the logwood trap dye. After they dried they are kind of like a chalk like coating and when handling the traps it turns my hands black. Is this normal? Or should I expect the traps to come out of the dye with more of a paint/gloss type finish so after they dry nothing would coat your hands. Amy advice would be appreciated!

That’s why you wax them at the same time. Just throw box of gulf wax paraffin in the bucket you are boiling them in Wax coats them when you pull them out

Mine did the same thing. Rinse, dry & waxed.
I used to paint my 330s but found F1 and a dip in FMJ or something was way cheaper, cleaner and no missed spots.
Store the mixed F1 in the rubbermaid tub or whatever somewhere where it won’t freeze and you can use it next year, top it up as required.
