The wild raspberry brambles and other brush are encroaching on the driveway at the cabin. I am going to brush hog them down but would like to do something to keep them from growing right back up. I was thinking of spraying the cut off ends with Round Up but is there something better out there for this application?

I have good success with 3% Triclopyr 4 and 3% MSO (Methylated Seed Oil) in a water solution of 20 gallon/acre for brush here.

Read the label, roundup will kill some woody plants, if you look at the label it usually requires a much stronger rate. Fall is the best time to kill most woody plants as the plant is storing nutrients in the root system . Therefore it’s more susceptible to pulling chemical in to the root system. Just a caution here , some plants will green back up in spring. Don’t run out and cut them back, some times they will force growth trying to survive. If you leave them most of the time they will die by the middle of June.

Spray first then bush hog after they die down some. It gets to the roots better for more effective kill.
