Fifty years ago, this month, somewhere in Arizona, was my last traffic ticket. Was out riding the Harley one night and passed these two fellas hitch hiking. Slowed down, wheeled around and offered them a ride to the next town. We got pulled over just inside the city limits. Might've been Holbrook or Winslow, don't recall now.
Ticket was for three on a motorcycle. Fresh back from a year in Thailand and six weeks in the Philippines prior to that I got used to seeing whole families on a bike. Didn't know it was illegal. Or too young to care. Probably.
The two paid for the ticket and bought me dinner at the local cafe. A memorable traffic citation indeed.
That being said, I'll probably get pulled over on my way to the trapper rondy next week.
There must be some sort of award or prize for this, eh?

That's a cool story Mike and congratulations on the safe driving record.
Been some years now since I had a ticket. Knock on wood. Last time I got stopped with just a warning. I was in Madison on my way to do my retirement plan at WRS. I missed a turn and was heading out the belt line the wrong way. Running a bit later than I wanted to be I decided to turn in one of the 4 lane crossing that says No U Turns. Looked in my mirror nothing behind me but what seemed like a utility truck. Started to slow down even put my blinker on. Wham the utility truck lights me up. Uh oh.. so I pull way left stop and was introduced to Belt Way Bob. I was told later he was well known officer on the belt line. Anyways I told him where I was going and he said fine. I letting you go but your going the extra couple miles up to the next exit. No ticket just verbal warning I thanked him profusely. Got to my meeting late which they said absolutely don't do. Get this they were running late so I still had to wait 10 minutes. Lmao. Wasn't to long after that I heard on the news Belt Way Bob died unexpectedly. Guess he was very liked by the people who ran the belt line daily.

The first and only ticket I've ever gotten was for illegal mufflers when I was 18 years old. I believe they were called Hollywood glass packs back then. I'm in my 80s now, so it was a while ago.

one ticket , speeding to church with a pregnant wife and 2 kids in car seats in the back of the Saturn S climbing the hill on 11
12 over
if anyone recalls Trooper Hill who patrolled Green county WI for around 25 years you weren't talking your way out of any ticket , he had you if he pulled you over and it just was.
he was kind enough to make it a 12 over 67 when technically said it was 13 he had me at 68 and that would have bumped it up from the minimum ticket.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

My last moving violation was in 91. No clue how many million miles ago that was. Several. In all 48.

The prize would be avoiding the alternative, getting punished by your insurance company.

I feel like I am being punished anyway. Good credit score and driving record. Dont drive my POV to work and still getting gouged.

Been a long time ! Probably 30 years for me !
But I certainly have deserved some in those past 30 years.
