That's a great plan, and there is plenty of time for it to have great results for you.

Me too concrete man! Been walking around out the Mrs and the dog at o-dark thirty every morning. Nice and cool part of day to go. We try to get a couple miles in daily.
Always helps get me ready for trapping later.
Way to go sir!
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

20 minute miles on flat ground is pretty typical.
Weights in hand are good to simulate carrying stuff.
If you just want to walk with weight for extra load, then a backpack is good.
I used to do 3 mile runs with 30# in a small backpack. Need to strap it tight to keep it from bouncing.

It's amazing just what s little bit of weight does.. Monday set s coyote job, had to walk in to set because an ATV wasn't practical because of the hills. 4 #3s on drags plus set making equipment is a workout in 100F. Made the trip twice, half mile each day which is short compared to .y normal walk-in lines.

You'd think walking 18 on a hilly golf course in the same conditions all summer would prepare you...

I believe walking is a great exercise. Where I live in the mountains of WV I have National Forest surrounding me.
To stay in shape I hike 4-12 miles at a time.
In the months of June and July 2-4 days a week.
Rest of the year between running cameras and hunting it’s 7 days a week.
Walked 13.9 miles one day turkey hunting.
I’m 67 years old.

Heck, that's nothing. Newtoga takes a 170 pound dumbbell with him on his walks and I take a 200 pound dumbbell with me on my walks every day!!!!!

The older you get the more you need to balance things out I’ve found out. Spread out the load to avoid a big drop in energy I figure I have enough work to keep me busy to help get me in shape that way. I can do anything I did before just the day after is different it tends to cripple a guy up with an abused body you feel it more now but you keep on going.

Last week I hit some chatter bumps coming up to a stop sign my Garmin watch chimed in and said I had “reached my goal.” I had to laugh, one I never set a goal, the goal pops up different every time and I was driving. LOL

Been walking an average of about 3 miles with the pup. Trying to get us both ready for the season.

I used to run but now much prefer walking. I try to get at least 12K steps a day (with a good chunk of those every morning with the dog).

It is great exercise with many benefits. Good job everyone.

Been walking 2 miles a day mostly 34 minuets to 35 . Walking in the rain took 43.30 . I always thought it took more time in the rain kind of proved out . if traping fox coyotes in the you know it a lot longer . but just walking didn't think it would make any difference.
