Don't put stands in dead trees!

Stand appears fairly new, steps not quite as so.

My ex daughter in-laws dad just fell out of a tree stand 2 weeks ago.hes lucky to be alive.think he broke 2 ribs screwed up c 2 vertebrae bunch of plates rod and hardware. Be in a some kind of contraption to hold everything straight for 3 to 6 months plus a bunch of physical therapy.

I have a 2 man 18' in an ash that has died I DONT LOOK FORWARD to moving and getting back up. Yet I have to before the tree smashes it and so I can use it for fire wood. It was a heavy pain to get put up a lot of deer have been shot out of the spot by the kids. My daughter picked the spot and it's still referred to as Isabel's stand when talking about the location.

Fresh dead tree is not a problem to get a stand out of

Not sure the guy in first pic has any sense at all, that tree has obviously been dead. Does not even look like id had any limbs left on it

Houndone sorry for the loss

Safety first, need to be tied off when your feet leave the ground and if you can't tell which trees are good to put a stand in, just hunt off of the ground
