Jelly that is, destined for my table at the Texas rondy next month. We had a banner crop of tunas this year.

Boy oh boy do I love that stuff! My sister -in- law would make and bring me some every x-mas when they lived in Lubbock. I miss it. They moved to Wisconsin

How much for a jar with recipe? I would love to try it. I broke down in dessert trapping, prickly pear and rats saved my life

How hard are the fruit to handle with the little hair like thorns?

Prickly pear grows well in Ohio, but I've never grown it. How long does it take to fruit?

How productive are the cactuses?

Keith

My gramma made that. Wonderful stuff. I like to eat them right off the leaves once all the stickers are off. So do coyotes.

Vinke, I'll happily send ya a jar, no recipe tho sorry.
Keithc, I use tongs to pick, then a pear burner in a wash tub to singe the fine stickers off. Always wear gloves tho, those little bad boys will find a way lol. We had a good year this time, lots of early rain and more last week to sweeten them up.

I put my hand on one of those devil weeds one time. Those little needle went into the palm of my trapper hands like I was made of puddin.
