Last week Bob bought a new Widget A so I had to run out and get me one.
Yesterday I talked to John and he bought a Widget B because he thinks Widget A's are crap.
So I just go back from picking up a Widget B and have a Widget A for sale because there are turds and I don't like them even though I haven't used it yet myself.
Tomorrow someone is going to make something that I'll just have to build one myself because they did and it sounds cool. Heck I wouln't even know what it's used for but hey.
Now I'm not going to do any research on my own and I not gonna know how to make it, but I'll be sure to post lots of questions on how to.
I'm really hoping they don't tell me that they used DeWalt tools because I have Milwaukee tools and I'm trying to save money to buy Bill's Widget E that Ted thinks is really cool cause his mothers brothers cousins nephews daughter had one years ago.
Hard to say what all will happen next week when I get paid.

Why are some individuals so compelled to do this sort of nonsense? Is it a mental issue or wanting to be the cool kid thing?
I've bought all kinds of widgets and made hundreds of things that I've seen or read about, but I have always taken the time to do my own research and ask of others opinions on the subject before making my decision to jump aboard.

Because some folks need validation in their life and the www gives them the opportunity to brag and let everyone that’s not even remotely interested or care that they are doing such and such. Several on here like that.

I wasn't directing this towards anyone in specific on here. I see it in all the forums, groups and pages I'm on and seams to be more and more lately.

I'm just curious as to why? Is it for validation, to brag, or simply just because they can?
