I put a small cage on the outside fastened to the main cage. A small hole in the main cage so they can stick their head into the small cage. Keeps them from splashing water or tipping over the water bucket in the small cage. You dont want water in your collection. I feed rabbits whole. Fur feet head all of it. I freeze them and chop them in half with an axe. One half per day per coyote. (never collected from fox) half rabbit is plenty. They eat them pretty quick as they are hungry. If they dont have the feed cleaned up in ten minutes or so your feeding to much. Nothing left. Freezing them keeps blood and stuff from getting into your collection.

Not cleaned out yet. Frame is welded rebar. Bottom is expanded metal. Sits on an old chest freezer lid with all the insides took out. Made a low spot in the lid with a single jack hammer then drilled a hole. I put a glass cake pan under the hole I got at a thrift store. Whole thing sits on a couple 4x4 posts laid on the shed floor.

Make sure you use a good heavy gauge wire. Those coyotes can chew out a corner or edge of a pen over night and be gone by morning.

I have not had an escapee yet. Mine is made from what is called a horse panel here. 4 foot by 8 foot. Need a bolt cutter or angle grinder to cut it. I welded it.

Advice I got when I bought my cages is if they start chewing on the cage, save yourself the the trouble and get rid of them

Electric fencing keeps pigs from rooting, I'd bet my left one that no coyote could chew threw it either. All you need is the wire outside so his nose hits it when he chew, ground the cage, probably double your collection volume.....
