Today I sit as much as I can and recover this is more of a younger man’s game but after 27 years I was not wasting that tag. Still 2 old guys managed to get it done in good time I’m 70 my buddy’s 75 but we are in good shape for being along in years. I tried to get him to sit out for a whitetail hunt but he said he was not feeling the deer thing yet as it was pretty warm.

Quarters are in the spare freezer and the last bag of loose meat will be cut/wrapped today I still need to finish unloading as we looked like a troop of Gypsies moving in when we camped. The gear needs to be separated out later this week as I trailered the big stuff and Doc pulled the camper from the rental place to the campsite and back.

Used an old clam shell travel carrier for an oversized cooler I picked up 20 5 pound bags of ice the first time then 6 16 lb bags on the way home it worked out well still had ice the next afternoon. Stuffed with gear on the way out then with the elk on the way back feet and all.

The local warden came over with a trainees and we went through the registration process with new guy.
