Personally I believe whatever a hunter shoots is their business But I can't help smiling after i pull the trigger knowing my neighbors are clutching their groin and racked with sobs either thinking I shot THEIR buck they had on camara forever or GASP I shot a small buck

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Never cared much about if a deer has dragging handles on its head. I usually target does anyway, so they get it first.

Meat hunters are GREAT.., go in, kill n get out. They help control over population. Love it.
Nothing againt them at all. Personally, deer meat ranks at the near bottom of game meat.

The pics I posted are just 3 (what could have been) antler wise for those that are intriguing by them.

You’re trying to humble brag buddy. Those are decent deer, for the age class.

Shoot what makes you happy, not what other people will pat you on the back for.

Lol

"Humble brag". I like the sound of that. Seems fitting for this particular instance.
But then, I have only killed a couple myself.
A couple of tractor trailer loads, full to the roof. smile

Humble brag??
These were young bucks that had potential to be giants. All killed years ago.
Only purpose of this thread.
I don't need a pat on the back from anyone nor do I want/ desire one!

Don't see how you took it that way?

Haha, if y’all shooting bucks for meat I bet y’all eat coon and possum too. When I go for meat, I’m targeting does and not the biggest nanny out there either. I’ll take that yearling or 2yr old doe over them all. Then again, we can legally kill 10 does a year, so back straps for days!! I’ll take the tender and y’all keep the tough meat.

Why shoot any deer if you aren't going to eat it?

I don't shoot any deer....I pick up plenty of fresh roadkill.
Plus I dislike the State claiming ownership of all the deer when private landowners pay for the food and shelter yet the State gathers the money for permits while they do zero for food and shelter.

Because other folks want to eat too. We probably kill close to 200 deer a year off two properties and always have folks still wanting deer when the season ends. No deer go to waste down here. Guessing y’all don’t have anything like that where you’re from? Heck, we even have certain days that’s advertised to donate deer to certain processors.

So do you eat everything you kill? The yote that is killed in summer because they all need shot? The ground hog that moved in under your building. The mouse that was pooping on your counter top? Animals aren’t just killed for food. But as for deer since beef went thru the roof people are begging for them. Especially elderly on fixed income
