How quickly it seems some forget.
Crazy what it takes to unite people.....most of the western world jumped behind the US. Bush's speech at ground zero give's a guy chills. You're either with us or against us. It didn't take long and they heard from all of us.

I am thankful to see this post. A horrible day. Never forget. The brave soles that brought down the plane that was to hit the White House.
Remember all of the innocent people in the towers. The first responders. And the people that jumped to there death.
Never ever forget!!!!!

I remember and will never forget.

I remember driving to the school just needing to know my girls were safe. They weren't told, the staff feeling that the elementary kids needed "normal", maybe the last they would ever know. I recall peeking into the lunchroom the see my girls.

Today I ate lunch at school with one of my girls two daughters.

I know I will never forget...9/11, today, is our Anniversary. 42 years and we tend to celebrate fairly quietly. This year we had the biggest Ribeye I could find and a growler of good, Nut Brown Ale from our vacation up north.

In 2001 I had gotten back around midnight 9/10 with a bear to put in the freezer. Got it all done and got to bed. Wonderful Wife woke me up in the morning, wished me a Happy Anniversary and told me to come out in the living room. The first tower had been hit. As I stood there the second tower got it. I looked at her and said "We are under effing attack!" Watched for a little while and then started putting together my Go-bag, thinking this just might be the time we all dreaded, but had prepared for as best we could. Jumped into the truck and ran up to fill the tank and any other gas cans I could put my hands on. The gas station owner had already jacked the price by over a dollar but I really did not care. Called our son to make sure he knew what was going on and that he should start getting ready as well.

That day changed just about everything forever.

Was the saddest day in U.S.A history far as I'm concerned.
Seems like yesterday.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I remember it was my junior year of highschool. I was hanging out withy friends before school started and one of them said to me, " did you hear the news?"when he told me I thought he was joking. I said "that's not funny man". He tried to make me believe him and I got angry with him. When someone else overheard me and reaffirmed the truth, I could not believe it. First class of the day we just watched the news. The shock is as real today as it was then.

I was scheduled to be on the phone working with a local tech in tower 1 , floor 81 that morning on a customers phones. Monday his kid got sick and he called off the trip into the city it was just a software upgrade and would wait till next week.

I had another co-worker in Manhattan watch the plane go into tower 2.

We lost 2 sites in tower 1 but thankfully all of the people at both of them made it out.

my wife was pregnant at the time with our oldest and the towers was really only part of the fear , if you recall the Rison attacks shortly after , there was a nasty flu season that year , there was such uncertainty.

I was getting my hair cut a few years ago on 9/11 and the young lady cutting my hair was about 5 when the towers went down , she has no recollection of any of it , only stuff from media years later when she was old enough.
No memory of not a single plane in the air.
friends and co-workers stuck where they were around the country or overseas wondering when they would be able to come home.
no idea of what it really was.

those kids that were under about 6 at the time maybe even older they would be 29-30 now.

I imagine this is a little like those born after Vietnam trying to understand what it was like to be 17 at the time asking themselves what branch do I join or do I wait for my draft number.
or for those who where not in Vietnam to comprehend what it was from across the world.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
