The new generation Pythons are a better revolver, because the internals are more simple, and the frame more robust.
The older Pythons had a deeper/richer blueing.
Have both generations & you definitely have a great revolver, IMO.

I had a 5" King Cobra. I traded it in for a 3" King Cobra for a carry gun. Happy Birthday, what a wife! Definitely a keeper!
My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

Wonderful gift and investment, Zim. You will love it. The more you shoot it, the smoother it gets, but these are always smooth to begin with. A good riding gun for me. The smoothest hair trigger after years of active use I have ever experienced. This one is a bit tricked out, long barrel , filed hair reactive trigger, and good grip for me. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/09/full-20139-229314-d8ad5d11_4e38_4e7d_a8e5_70e0554a9def_1_105_c.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/09/full-20139-229315-9e3d6cfd_7da6_416e_8f88_2cbfc02dbe27_1_105_c.jpeg)

Spent most of the morning admiring and wiping off fingerprints. (the Python, not the wife)
Zim
He's been wiping fingerprints off of me too!!! Too much fun! I stuffed the Colt case with a bunch of packing into a big Cabela's box so the size and shape were not recognizable and then wrapped it. When he opened it and saw the Cabela's box, he had no idea what was in it. This has been so much fun!!!

Good for you Zim. I'm not much of a handgun guy, but I remember when my wife bought me a 3" shotgun when steel shot was mandatory. I shot a ton of ducks with my Model 12 but I needed a new gun.
You've got a great partner in life. You're a lucky man.
Enjoy the new toy.

You made out like a fat rat in a cheese factory all around.

You have a beauty there, Zim, and that Python is not bad looking either.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!
