He helped them this year, but they got there in spite of him last year.

Things could be worse, the cubs could have no World Series wins the last 50 years like the Brew Crew. smile

Brewers get a big win. Yes Nola pitched well and so did Peralta. He has pitched well the last half of the season. Was glad we could win in the 9th, going into extras with the Phillies is a tough situation.
Won the series. Now the D-Backs and they are playing for a wild card place so this will be tough as well.

Not only have they not won a WS, but most years they were really bad. Alot of years Brewers baseball was just there to get us to football season. I have been amazed with what they have done with a much lower payroll than the big boys. I would just love to see the brewers win one for Mr Baseball.

I like seeing a group of young rookies jelling and learning from a few good veterans and a manager that really knows how to motivate with a coaching staff that really has helped these younger players develop. Those involved in the trading and building a team have done well, at least for now. Yes they are not the wall bangers but they are patient hitters that make pitchers earn their outs. By having a better on base percentage this year they had to pitch to more hitters, instead of pitching around the better or hotter hitters. Stolen bases make a big difference. 150 stolen bases turns singles and walks into doubles.
Pat Murphy is probably the NL manager of the year. Nobody had them where they are today.

That was before I was born;)

To celebrate clinching the division, they got a stroller and loaded it up with no alcoholic beverages for Chourio since he is only 20. He continues to play his way into Rookie of the Year conversations. He had the big lead off triple to start the ninth inning and score the winning run. I should check the betting odds but I believe he wins an MVP award before his career is over. Bryce, if Pat Murphy doesn’t win manager of the year, a brewer manager will never win the award.

Congratulations to the Brewers.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

If you’re going to be a cubs fan,, you better have thick skin and get used to it.
I know it’s done and over,,, but I’ll still say that David Ross got unfairly shafted,, I’ve been following the cubs and bleeding cubbie blue as far as I can remember,, 1984 was bittersweet.
Phillies are still my picks for national championship and the yanks for the American. The orioles have fallen apart.

Phillies coach is acting like the Cubs coach. They should of pulled Walker before he allowed 7+...

Was and is. He's doing it again tonight. Cubs get behind because the pitcher sucks, then Cubs get some runs and tie it up, then the pitcher gives up more runs, Cubs get enough to tie, guess who he sends back out,,,, yep same guy.

Despite Counsel's efforts the Cubs managed to win. Brewers lost, that's always good for Cubs' fans. The Phillies need to get their stuff together very soon. These games are going get important to them if they don't.

D-Backs pitcher struck out double digit Brewers tonight. At one point 7 in a row! The young guys need to get more hitting against the better pitchers. Cleveland clinched tonight also. Another team doing well with not many big name veterans. Similar team to the Brewers, good pitching and good D. Padres, D-Backs and Dodgers all in the NL West are very sound teams and the Mets are playing better than any team Since mid June. Post season looks like it will be fun to watch.

I am not concerned at this point. Wednesday was a tough loss, on the bright side Nola pitched a good game, it was good to see him do so. I was pretty sure Walker would get hammered and he did what I expected, Thomson should have pulled him after he gave up 4 runs and not 8. If he had done so the Phillies might have won that game. That 5th starter has been a problem for months. The next 4 games the Phillies have some decent pitchers pitching, if they lose all 4 of those games it might be time to get concerned.

I think they are trying to set up the bullpen for the final stretch. Willing to sacrifice a little competitiveness for rest for the bullpen. Everyone is trying to do it where they can. They used to all bring up some additional arms but that is limited with rosters now.
