Sky King's plane was Song Bird. I didn't remember that. It was a Cessna wasn't it? Too, didn't he have a dog?

Bigger than a Cessna. More like a DC3. During an extended drought........they used it to seed the clouds and the ensuing rains caused massive floods. Didn't know there could be so much drama centered around and old air plane. Don't remember a dog, but Penny was kinda hot. They said she was his niece......but I don't know.

So which TV show featured recurring joke line.........."Whoa Nellie"? Wasn't that on Roy Rogers where his sidekick would say it to the jeep?

I googled it, and the airplane in Sky King was originally a Cessna T-50, then they went to a Cessna 310B.

So which TV show featured recurring joke line.........."Whoa Nellie"? The character of Frog Millhouse — played by Lester Alvin ‘Smiley’ Burnette (18 March 1911 – 16 February 1967) — used the expression as he tried to stay on his horse, Ring-Eyed Nellie in the Gene Autry (29 September 1907 – 2 October 1998) movies. But surely, there were other Nellie’s before Ring-Eyed Nellie. Probably one of many to use the phrase...Rob

The original Lassie featuring Jeff. Rin Tin Tin. Lone ranger. Hop along Cassity. For you really old guys--Rinkey dink. Kukla Fran and Ollie just I remember all of those. I have an 8x10 picture of me and Hoppy and also an 8x10 of me and Crash Corrigan. I am on his horse holding his six shooter pointed right at his nose. He has his hands in the air How about their predecessors on the radio. The Whistler, The shadow, The Lone Ranger, Jack Benny and the best of all.......The Bickersons.

So which TV show featured recurring joke line.........."Whoa Nellie"? Wasn't that on Roy Rogers where his sidekick would say it to the jeep? Yep......the old WWII Willy's jeep "Nelliebelle".........which had no brakes. Did have the flag banners. Forgot about Smiley Burnett's horse. Another that used it was Keith Jackson on ABC coverage of college football. Usually after a big play during a late 4th quarter Nebraska rally against Oklahoma that always came up short.
