I recently found all 6 seasons of Hogan's Heroes at the library. Man are those things funny !!
Even more interesting are the actual lives of some of those actors.

Werner Klemperer........Colonel Klink................refused to play that part unless he could provide his own uniforms and only if his character was to be portrayed as a buffoon.

John Banner..sgt Schultz.........was Austrian but served in the US Army Air Corps during WW2.

Robert Clary who played LeBeau.............was an actual survivor of one of the German POW camps.

Very entertaining

Did not have TV when I was little. No reception where we lived. I watched Sea Hunt at a few times at cousins etc. Made me in interested in SCUBA. I did a little when I was younger. Coolest dive I ever made was the La Jolla underwater park in San Diego.

We had TV when Hogans Heros came out. I liked it. Watched Rat Patrol too.

I remember Hogans Heros and one day my dad broke silence for a rare moment. Out of the blue he told us there was nothing stupid or funny about Germans in WWII. He did time in Italy......having gotten there on a Troop ship out of Norfolk. He later told us they told them that with all the U-boats patrolling off the east coast, they had less than 50:50 chance of making it 100 miles off the coast, let alone to Italy.

An in addition to Rat Patrol.......Combat........starring Vic Morrow.....what plugged a lot of "Krauts" with his Tommy gun.

Also nothing funny about life on a PT boat on south pacific, despite the fun times they had in McHales Navy.

I really liked Rat Patrol too. To this day every time I see mounted guns in the bed of a truck I think of that one.

Sea Hunt was one I always liked also.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Ramar of the jungle and Jungle Jim. Stock recordings of every jungle animal on earth. Me aged 6 to 12 wanted to hunt them all, at 70+ still do.
