I gave my brother a random container of squash seed, apparently 👾Jahradales or a cross of those and buttercup and he planted a 50’ row…he’s got many different genetic expressions going on from the seeds of just one specimen. That’s an awesome pie squash right there
….. in about a month or more.

My squash did "ok" this year. The potatoes and cucumbers were the best I have ever had. Everything else was pretty poor. I am jealous of your gardens Les.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Really nice! I wish I was better at gardening. Don’t have the room in the city. I made a cucumber trellis once and they did well. Kept looking every day and nothing. Then one day boom! Like twenty appeared. Made excellent pickles

Thanks, everything is 3 weeks late but it has been warm for a while now to get things ripening

My squash and pumpkins are going crazy right now and growing by the day. We were very wet this Spring and early summer. Late summer was hot and dry so everything is messed up. Some of my Red Pontiac potatoes are the size of softballs already and other things just never did worth a hoot.

Buttercups are my favorite squash. Just put up the last of my acorns today. That Hubbard blue hue always catches my eye. Some will grow huge. Definitely a good squash to grow for putting up volume. That cross looks nice. I'd be interested into the taste of it. All squashes have a distinct taste to me. Wonder if all those variants have the Hubbard taste or if each one is a surprise flavor. Very nice

The blue is always milder than the buttercup

Les , the problem with growing squash is you’re about forced to eat them !

It’s a lazy man who can’t find his wife a second job !
