Some kind of striped beetle on forage turnips and tillage radish. Constellation of white moths fluttering over the stand.

Harmful or no worries?

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

Could be blister beetles, but seems late in the season from what I know about those. About 2 months too late.

Whatever they are, seeing clusters of a dozen or so about 3 to 5 feet apart where I'm finding them. Eating and stripping leaf, but may not be able to keep up at this point. Turnip tops are popping.

That doesn’t look like the same bug to me Cathryn. Stripes and head seem different.

Probably nothing a good dusting of Sevin wouldn't cure.

May also have some pyrethrin dust, but may not matter. Looks like they don't eat much and as long as chickens don't eat one........no livestock have access to it. Mostly intended as forage for chickens, cover crop and fall and early deer pasture.

But one more example of how hard it is to grow anything of value. If you plant it hoping to harvest something down the road, you can expect all manner of bug, weed or animal to conspire against you to eat or destroy it. If it's a weed or something volunteer.......it will thrive. Nothing bothers it and you cannot kill it. And thats being optimistic! laugh
