Wouldn't a bluegill have a black dot near the pectoral fin? Or, does that come later?

The first bottles of Coca Cola contained 3.5 grams of cocaine. That's how our grandparents were able to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow.

I'm thinking Pumpkinseed also. The flashy black, blue and orange colors are breeding colors to attract a mate. That one is way too young for that

Every kid needs a Dog and a Curmudgeon.

Remember Bowe Bergdahl, the traitor.

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

Good question. I don't know for sure. I've seen a lot of little fry bluegills and that was my first inclination when I saw the picture.

We could just call it a sunny or sunfish which encompasses about dozen species of fish.

Its some sort of sunfish, thats all that can be determined for certain. Not a green sunfish. Juvenile coloration can sometimes make ID tricky.
