Just bought a new packbasket. Was thinking about treating it with something. There was a thread where Hern showed an old one he reconditioned with brushed on vegetable oil. It looked great.
Has anyone treated a new one. What have you used and how long till it dried and the scent went away.
Thanks for any help

My brother used linseed oil and it worked well. Boiled Linseed Oil.And if its big enough,,put a 5 gallon pail in it.

Certainly a lot of different treatments that work.Thank you for all your responses.
Muskrat, I wasn't even thinking bamboo! That is one beautifully made and large basket. Also some top-notch straps.

I use boiled linseed oil on everything wood, tool handles, etc.... a little goes a long way, too much at once can be gummy, very light coats...let dry,... as many as you want ^^^ This :-)
