My girlfriends mother's yard is infested with fleas. Her mother is currently in the hospital for the foreseeable future. What can be done if anything. Any ideas are appreciated.

Bug spray thru a fogger will get everything dead. I use it around my place to kill fleas, spiders, ext. I don't mind the spiders but hate the webs. Be sure to wear a respirator. The fine mist covers everything.

basically every hardware store will have a product similar to this

https://www.amazon.com/Cutter-61067...f_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

it is a yard spray that goes on the hose , read the label most need to apply and have it be dry for several hours

read the square footage of coverage , and go spray the entire yard it might take a few bottles , spray right up onto the deck and siding a few feet the only thing you don't want to spray is food plants , use sevens around those

this is a pesticide but an easy one to apply that works , repeat in a few weeks
also treat any animals in the house and yard

mix up a sprayer of this for spot spraying and I have used this inside around baseboards and such , again it has to be left to dry

It's been a terrible year for fleas.

My son used to use some kind of granules you get at lowes, etc, kills fleas and ticks, now he has a guy come and spray the yard, no more ticks, fleas, fire ants, scorpions...guess it kills everything and lasts the season, guy is cheap too..
But I believe sevin will work for you, need to apply again in 2 weeks to kill the hatchlings, probably need to treat indoors, carpets etc, including any pets.

Yes, but NOT permanently. You need to treat the pets and where they sleep, then eliminate as many varmints that carry them as you can, ie: Rabbits, Squirrels, Coons, 'Possum, and stray pets. Flea population will explode in the very hot days of summer.

Imidacloprid Is the best flea killer I know. It's in lots of products including the flea and tick killers you put on dogs. I used to use the cheap Bayer Tree and Shrub knockoffs to keep fleas and ticks off my hunting dogs. If you spray Imididacloprid in the yard twice, 10 days apart, you should be able to eliminate all the fleas and most of the other insects.

Whatever pesticide you use, if it doesn't kill the eggs in addition to the adult fleas, you will need to reapply after about 3 days, and then again in another few days in order to kill the fleas that hatch in the meantime. Also, if it is that bad in the yard, they may also be in the house, especially if there are dogs or cats that come in the house.

Flea eggs take up to 10 days to hatch, so using Imidacloprid 10 days after the first application gets them all.

Thank you everyone for the replies I will show them to Teresa and see what she thinks. We may not do anything now due to it being several months before her mom can come home.

Not sure what our yard man sprays, but I can lay in the yard naked and no bugs whatsoever.

I had them bad 15 or so years back. I used bifen granules in the yard. Vacuumed the house daily and disposed of the bag. Also washed loose linens. Treated the yard weekly for a month.
