Thanks for all the replys and advice on my earlier thread about CPAP. I am turning the machine back in and am done with trying to use it. I feel that something is wrong with the machine because of constantly waking up and feeling like I'm suffocating. The doctor wouldn't allow a variable pressure rate. I've tried nose pillows and different things and nothing works.

It's funny how all the symptoms that I didn't have before I started using the machine, I now have. REASON is because I can't get any sleep with this stupid machine. I've had laryngitis ever since I started using it and have probably averaged 4 hours of sleep a night. No more, I am done.

If you need it, you need it... but it needs setting up right. Might want to contact the manufacturer and find someone that knows these machines and could help you..or find another Dr. .but it's your decision.

I missed that thread, Randy. Sorry you're having issues.

I know that I need CPAP. I use mine every night, with rare exceptions. It has a made a demonstrable difference for us (wife and I).

I'd encourage you to keep trying to find a therapist that will work with you to get it right.

Best of Luck!

My wife had similar experience.

She was ready to throw in the towel, until she got a new mask. It covers only the nose. She went from 3-4 hours of torture per night to a restful 7-10.

Don't give up until you actually run out of options.
