My 450 Honda Rancher has no electrical power. Won’t even jump start. Any suggestions where to start??

Pull off the hot lead and look for a ground on it.

Check the rectifier, think it’s under the rear right fender. Eric

That model has always had issues with the flux capacitor. It is right next to the DeLorean.

Only when you're out of plutonium.

Thanks for the tips. It has no electrical power at all. When I turn the key on the green light doesn’t come on.
What is the little silver can looking thing next to the battery. It’s hooked to the battery. It is a little corroded Could that be an issue?

If you haven’t already, disconnect and wire brush both terminals and wires then hook back up.

Hopefully you're not having my kind of luck.

Some critter chewed thru about a dozen wires in the harness on my 2018 Honda 700 SxS. Some of the wires are very small....no splicing. Plus, I don’t want any splicing.

Just dropped it off at Honda place today for repair. The harness is $500 and labor is $700+.

I have insurance on it but deductible is $500.... frown[Linked Image]

We just had a similar situation on an old yamaha Kodiak. It was purchased after someone had cannibalized the starter, battery and box and starter solenoid. We replaced the parts and It worked perfect until we went through mud and water (bear baiting). No green neutral light when you turned the key on so no power from battery. It would start manually. It turned out to be 2 bare wires coming from stator where they exit the motor (behind recoil). Bone dry, no problem but any moisture and there was a grounding issue. It was hard to see where the insulation was wore off so inspect carefully. My guess is someone before us was throwing parts at it to fix this very problem and gave up. Good luck

I had a problem with this on my 350 rancher. It was backfiring and then blew the 30 amp main fuse in the battery compartment. Replaced it and worked fine.

The bitterness of poor quality last a lot longer than the sweetness of low price
