Archery bull elk is on my bucket list as well , I’m looking to go within 5 years

3rd one down in the pics in the wallow. I was hoping we had pics when I shot him but nothing I was bummed, then I wondered how many pic we did not get but a guy can’t risk 2 cams on public in the same place. Reception is sketchy out there weak signals on the cams often.

I shot that bull directly across from the cell cam pointing that way we should of had 2 bulls and a cow on it but zip.

Dang that’s kind of a bummer but oh well. Heck of a bull you killed.

They just started allowing trail cams on a piece of public land here that has sika deer on it ( a barrier island ). It will be a big help, as they are very tough to hunt and near nocturnal. I’ve been messing with them last few years, they’re in the elk family, bugle in early October when they rut. It’s a fun challenge and they taste great!

There was a forest preserve west of Chicago that had white deer they were cool to see.

Law Dog did you check the cards on the camera?

Sometimes on some of the cell cameras they store on card, but don’t send the pictures. Maybe it captured more pictures than you thought?

No cards on these cell cams.

Nothing like elk to set your heart into high gear.

Good on you. Never arrowed an elk myself but it must have been amazing.
