I didn't watch them but looks like the Cubs have lost two in a row to the Rockies. No chance of them making a wildcard spot so I'm hoping they lose all the rest of their games this season to inspire some much needed changes for next year.

Go Phillies! laugh

The Phillies win with a walk off hit by Realmato in the bottom of the ninth.

Brewers were down 5 then up by 3 scored 2 in the 10th and still lost. Koenigs had a poor outing, as did other later bullpen hurlers. Hope they saved some runs for the Phillies.

They saved enough runs for the first game of the series wink. Rea gave the bullpen some needed innings of relief.

Always good baseball when you have two good teams playing instead of those lowly bottom feeders. Every at bat counts. Sure gets me excited for playoff baseball.

Cubs had an easy night tonight. 9-2.

Too bad the Phillies lost. I really can not stand Contreras, hate to see him do anything good. I never liked his brother when he was a Cub, but the little brother is even worst.

Brewers played well tonight. Need to play the Phillies tough as the Cubs have a much easier couple games to play.

Cubs are not a threat to the brewers. It would take a miracle at this point to make wild card.

No they are not but it is not good to play poor ball when you are improve your position in the playoffs.

Philadelphia was a double loss tonight. The Phillies and the Eagles. I hope Penn State doesn't let me down on Saturday.

I'm not sure if even that matters in the national league anymore.

You never know Dirt. Back in 1964 the Phillies had a 6 1/2 game lead with 10 games left and they blew it. I still have nightmares from that, lol. I think the Phillies will win their division, but the home field advantage thing is up for grabs.

Just get in and you have a chance. Bonus if you are playing good ball. The difference between top teams is usually a timely hit or two. Doesn’t matter if it is a broken bat bloop or 450 foot towering home run.

Important win for the Phils, it puts them 2 up for the best record in the NL over the Dodgers and 4 over the Brewers.

Nice.

Cubs blew it again tonight. No talk of replacing their coach though, man I hate that guy.

Wheeler pitched a very strong 7 innings. Brewers did not do better even in their later at bats. Phillies have the best starters in the MLB right now as a group. Bull pen is solid also. If they can keep from being streaky they can go deep in the playoffs. Cubs were losing the last I looked. Looks like the Brewers will have to work their way through the wild card group. That did not go well last year.

The Phillies and the Brewers have the hardest schedules from here on out while the Dodgers have by far the easiest. The Brewers have one game left with the Phillies, 4 games with the Diamondbacks, 3 games with the Mets and 3 games with the Pirates. The Phillies have 1 game with the Brewers, 4 games with the Mets, 3 games with the Cubs and 3 games with the Nationals. The Dodgers have 2 games with the Marlins, 6 games with the Rockies and 3 games with the Padres. 8 of the remaining 11 for the Dodgers are with the two worst teams in the NL.

Cubs blew it again. Allowed the lowly Brewers to clinch the division without even winning.

Go Phillies!!!

Council is still helping the Brewers win the division. The more things change, the more they stay the same. wink
