Just got back from our morning walk and have started to brush her out every morning, and as I was doing this it made me wonder. How would fox and coyote react to the dog hair used in a dirt hole? I have used sheep's wool before and had success with it, so thought I would see what you all think.

Another trapper around here told me that they would be more afraid of it, but he did say that he uses cat hair, which worked really well. I have never tried either so I wouldn't know for sure.

Guess there is only one way to find out. Do a few test holes and see.

Dog crap and dog urine both work well, so I don't know why they would be afraid of dog hair.

Depends on the area. Dog crap, urine, or hair doesn’t work here.
If you’re trapping an area that doesn’t see dogs or have a dog smell then it just might work.
Our coyotes would get dehydrated trying to mark everywhere a dog marks, lol.

I'm going out this week and put in a test hole. I helped a buddy track a deer last year where I plan on doing it, his deer got chased by dogs, so I figured it would be a good spot to try. Plan is to take weedeater with me to knock down the grass where I plan on placing hole.

Fur brushes are a good place for saving hair. I have used hair from coyotes. It works good in a dirt hole.
