Lots of pests in my area. Oak wilt killing oaks, ash borers killing ash, ants killing aspens and balsam. In my yard I have all of these issues going on right now.

Emeral ash borer, they have devastated all the ash. You can see it is continuing spreading north. The Nippissing swamp behind our place is wiped out, all ash trees are dead.

are we asking about in the city or areas in the burbs?
Emerald ash borer for all the ash , very few left that aren't dead or dying
root rot for a lot of the maples
anything in a low spot was under water all spring and half the summer.
there is a bug I am not sure what effecting many of the pines
I think a bunch of it is collective if it isn't going to fall on someone it isn't being dealt with. so there is multiple years of standing dead wood every where I go in southern WI
2021 was our last hot dry summer been fairly normal since and this spring and summer was a wet one. but has been dry for September
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Noticed a lilac that greened up, but never had bloom on it this spring. Noticed a couple weeks ago it looked dead. Today it had some new leaves , and even a few blooms on it. I've seen apple trees bloom this time of year also, thinking it's a hot dry spell, then a cool spell, and back to a wet period, and warm spell after. Nature has it's strange times and ways with coping with droughts.

Here in my neck of the woods in SE Nebraska there seems to be a high number of trees dead or dying just about everywhere. Maybe drought has something to do with it... but I kinda and wondering if the ingredient dicamba used in some chemicals that are made for weed control in corn and other crops. I goggled dicamba and dead trees awhile back. Saw one webb site where a university did a study and found no effects of dicamba on trees. Scrolled down a bit and found another webb site that said a study by a different university found dicamba did indeed hurt trees. I'm 67 years old and have been an outdoor guy all my life and I can say for sure many many more trees are dying here everywhere... way more than a normal year. What is it... depends who you believe I guess.
