I usually don't read stories and such on my smart phone but I opened up Google on it for some reason this afternoon and this was suggested to me. And I believe I was supposed to read it and not just because of the algorithms. It will take you 10 minutes or more but its worth it.

500,000 Americans causalities in just the ETO after D-Day sort of puts things in context for part of the story, and we bled a lot less than many WWII involved nations.

P.S. It's "Germans from Russia" not "German-Russians". There wasn't much mixing of genetics when the German farmers were there...
