Just wanted to pass this along in case it is useful information for anyone else. I've owned a 14' Sportspal canoe for many years and live in Arizona. My old Sportspal was in need of a new foam liner and being in Arizona I was looking for a lighter option than the charcoal colored liner offered by the canoe manufacturer. I found a closed-cell polyethylene foam product sold in various thicknesses in a 60" wide roll and sold by the linear foot from Foambymail.com. They sell the foam in both charcoal and off-white color. It can be found under the Commercial heading, then closed-cell foam, then polyethylene roll. I chose the 2lb density 1/2" thick foam in off-white. It was less than $10 a linear foot and was free shipping for purchases over $75. It took me a lot of calls and emails to different vendors to find something suitable that didn't cost hundreds of dollars. Foambymail was very nice to deal with and answered all of my questions. I hope this information can be helpful for others.

I wish you would have posted this info a year ago. LOL ,
I bought a new liner last winter for my 14’ Radisson from one of their dealers, cost considerably more. But good info to store in my memory bank.
Your canoe looks good.

I had a heck of a time with those ribs coming loose. Seemed like every 2nd or 3rd use I'd knock one free with my boots or my knees or my gear. I eventually just took them all out and removed the foam liner. I may coat the bottom with bedliner or something this year, but for hunting I always cover the canoe with a sheet or two of burlap anyway so might not even bother with it.

Over time the foam is compressed and the ribs come loose. I solved the problem with small bolts/nuts. Keeps 'em in place. As for removing all the ribs, well . . . I don't think that's advisable.

X2 on the compression over time, and small bolts to hold the ribs. When I put the new liner in my Radisson , I had a heck of a time putting the ribs back in because the new liner was thicker. Also, I would not recommend using a sportspal or Radisson canoe without a foam liner and ribs.
