The sound of a DeHaviland Beaver on floats cranked up to full power on a frosty morning. Heading for Anchorage and knowing I don't have to listen to it again until next September

Let the dogs out in dark early this am didn't switch side lights on. Stood by door couple minutes in cool air. Listing to some geese flying some to the east of me. Never gets old.

A solid no doubt about it hookset, a home-raised Rib-eye sizzling over hot coals, hundred year old trapping magazine articles that contain more insight and woodsmanship than we see today

Listening to a trio of great horned owls hooting at each other from different points on our farm at dusk.

Listening to various species of song birds calling at first light in the woods behind my cabin.

Pausing to listen to Canadian geese as they fly overhead this time of year with their gossipy honking and cackling.

Coyote families connecting with each other during the midnight hours behind the farm.

Crows scandalizing over any minutia that they come up with any time of day. Lord help us a hawk is involved.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Watching a herd of elk during the rut or any wildlife for that matter ,

The sounds of geese over head .as they're heading to a field to roost .

Hearing a good report from a Dr after more tests were completed .

Getting to enjoy the sights and sounds of family and friends enjoying a good meal and conversation .

Just to name a few ha ha , thanks Jack for another great post !

Well here are a few from me that help make it a better day Start the day with a good cup of black coffee in a ceramic cup Not plastic or paper A breakfast of scrambled eggs along with bacon and fresh made scrabble/ pohaus(sp help me out here Lugnut) Getting into my archery stand and not making too much noise Hearing deer
walking down the mountain and using my buck call getting a response Flushing a wild ring neck pheasant out from under your feet at less than 10 feet in front and while the bird is not yet 15 feet off the ground I have fired 2 shots And just when the bird is at the best place to now shoot my gun is already empty Lots of good remarks for those that have talked the talk and walked the walk Maybe I will check back tomorrow add still one more Very good conversation starter

My part 2 after more thought ,

Meeting a new born child or grandkid for the first time and they hold your finger .

A smile on a kids face after they figured out a problem for the first time .

Feeding bottle calves or lambs .

Puppy breath , then watching that sounds same pup prancing around with a successful retrieval .

After feeling recoil when a cover of birds flush from cover .

Catching your first target animal with a trap or snare

Reuniting with a old friend for a visit over a glass or ice tea or beverage of choice . Ha ha

You're friend along the snare line .
