Interested in opinions on the bobcat Pro Z trap cage I’m thinking about buying a couple for the season. What do you think about them?

I haven't used cage traps for trapping bcats, but these look very effective with that pan design. There is nothing the cat has to push against or step on...he's on the pan as soon as he enters trap...

I hear ya Swamp Wolf, they do look good but I’m considering the z-trap cages cause they’re $150.00 with free shipping. Stay safe with the hurricane.

I have the Blackwell trap, unfortunately i've only gotten to use it to catch feral housecats for spay/neuter and its worked well. Id be curious as to how well the trigger on the Z trap works as far as misses.

I've seen several bobcats caught in the Z-Trap cages. If I were looking to buy bobcat cages they are the ones I'd buy.

Think my son uses Pied Piper traps at the plantation. Think they’re 14x14x36 and he catches everything except coyotes. Didn’t realize bobcats would enter a cage just set at an intersection with an egg for bait until he started sending me pics, lol. What’s crazy, is once a cat is caught in one, it’s almost a guarantee another will be in that same trap within a couple of nights. They aren’t brushed or anything. Just set perfectly flat with the ground tore up underneath with a garden rake.

Seems to me that not many people own this kind of cage trap, so that’s why I wanted some feed back before purchasing. Thanks guys!

I just bought 6 of the cam trip traps used, they look like great traps. Have not seen the pro z traps.

It's good to seek feedback, the Z-traps cages are fairly new to the market compared to some of the others. Keep this in mind though...

It's a strange mentality that some folks have, they think they have to spend huge money on cages with all the bells and whistles to catch bobcats. Some guys who catch coyotes think the same about their multifaceted foot hold traps. When in reality, you could buy a large inexpensive cage from any reputable dealer and catch just as many cats if you have the population and the knowledge to set them correctly. Same as a guy, who knows what he is doing, could use a cheaper foothold and catch as many coyotes, or more if you spent the same amount of money,,, more traps, more furs.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Those cam trip cages look stellar, but are a little out of my price range. You are very correct ADC so I think I’m going to get a couple, and at the end of the season report back and let y’all know how well the cages worked. I’ll give a full review.

You should buy a big Duke cage too and do a comparison. I think they don't charge extra shipping on one of them either.
