This morning I was leaving for work. If I walk out the door at 5:25 a.m. I am on time to be at work at 6:00. I reach up to the window sill where I keep my wallet and froze. It wasn't sitting there. Ugh. Not what I need at 5:20. I immediately knew that I had to drive my daughter to dance last night at 7 and that I did so wearing my pajama pants. Oh crap, those loose pockets suck. Well I didn't get out of the car except at my moms to drop off some tomatoes and peppers. So I head the ten miles into moms and just know it was goign to be sitting on the couch where I was sitting. Nope. Not in her driveway either. Ugh. My security badge to get into work is in it. My license. My CCW. My passport card. Credit cards. All my hunting and fishing licenses. Ugh. Head back home half sick. Text my boss that I'm going to be late. Not in my pants pockets. Go through the laundry basket. Go through the laundry room. Go out to the barn but why would I have set my wallet down out in the barn? Ugh. Nothing. Then beside a lawn chair out in the yard there it lay. It fell out of my pajama pants pocket after I got home and sat by the fire. Flashlights in the dark at 6 a.m and its been recovered! Quit an exciting morning already, I need a nap. Glad its over. Good luck to you out there this morning, you might need it.

Pajama pants in public is part of the Wal-Mart dress code. I'm glad you found your wallet, but I think losing it for the time you did was a sign to not go out in public like that again. grin

Tip - keep your open trash bin away from tabletops/counters.

Helped a friend find his wallet , it was in the dumpster , got knocked into the trash can.

It happens more often than you would think.

Sounds like you did your search in the best fashion. From last know place to path of travel.
Something to think about for items that like to slide out of your pocket. Put a big rubber band around it. Not always the handiest. But keeps it from sliding out. I have a piece of innertube on my Zippo. The pants I wore for work terrible about things sliding out when sat down. Rubber gives it just enough traction to stay in your pocket. On a billfold it can also make it less likely for slick hands to bump you and grab it.

Great story. I usually find several wallets and / or cell phones a year when I am out looking for lures. I found this one the other day: [Linked Image]

The wallet alone was worth over $500.00 besides the cards and money that was in it. I dropped it off with the Police department which returns things all the time.

I lose (misplace) my wallet at least once a year. Strangest place I recovered it from was the freezer. Still don't remember how I put it in there. Just two weeks ago I saw small corn snake in the yard so I ran over and caught it for the greatgrandaughter. She kept it overnight then let it go in the morning. That was when realized I couldn't find my wallet. After looking half the day I realized I had put it down with some papers I was carrying when I saw the snake. There is was out in the side yard laying in the grass.
