We have a pair of nz reds, raised a couple litters of 8 this year. That's enough for the wife and me. Some of the best meat you can eat

My thought is if you want it, raise it yourself and there's your source. As much as I dislike facebook it is a good place to get brood stock. Just join the right group and there you go. The nazis there are against animal sales but you just watch how you word things, such as "here are some piglets wanting to be loved" then private message for details, simple as that. We've bought and sold all manner of things , goat, pigs and various fowl, no sweat. I've seen people have rabbit hutch in their yard. Now you can be a girl lives in Montana , drives a truck and works around the system and has rabbit meat to eat

Have not for a few decades. Did raise NZ whites for a decade. All caged, year round breeding, ate many for meat and sold many for fryers or lab rabbits. I was the only one interested in working with them. I believe I topped out at about 9-10 does. Ate free but made very little over that. I got my pellets from tlhe place that bought our fryers and lab rats. I sprinkled calf replacer on top of the pellets for the does when nursing as they showed signs of milk fever or calcium shortages.

As for selling the pelts, I only sell the prime pelts. Typically, I gain interest in them when I post pictures on FB or other online platforms. Last batch I shipped frozen didn't go so well thanks to the Post Office. So now I only sell locally or along routes when I travel. I sold 40 raw frozen pelts to a lady making pillows earlier this year. An extra $3-5 each helps the bottom line. I make my money on the breeding stock, show stock, "raw dog food," and manure.

Rabbits and pigs give you the most return on your investment in a very short amount of time, relative to other livestock. They are delicious. They produce excellent fertilizer, and their fur is nice too
