Big delivery company; new hires have 20 points then restart with 40 points after 90 days, earn 40 hrs of sick time the first year, if sick and can cover the time with pay, then no points, if some pay available but not enough to cover 2 points, if no sick time left 4 points. Have had many people point out. Also start with 36 hrs personal time after 90 days and start earning vacation time immediately upon hire, can earn 1 week the first year 2 weeks the second.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

When I owned my own business I had a jerk for a boss. He made me work every day. My boss (me) lets me off to hunt, trap and fish all the time. In fact, he encourages it. Never gives me points. It's the dang customers that get upset if I don't show up.
Eh...wot?

Since Covid all the rules have gone away with the willing workers. Still have a few and thankful for them!

Do you guys have them? What's your attendance policy. Do you get paid personal days? Never heard of such a thing.I was self employed for many years so never had to deal with that. I had a union job once and working for them was a big pain in the butt. They would have pulled this crap if they had a chance. They tried all kinds of stupid stuff cause they thought employes would and did put up with it.One day I said here's your job, you can keep it and never returned. One of the smartest things I ever did in my life.

My old job you got x amount of PTO per 8 hrs worked. X varied according years of service. Could use it whenever you wanted. There was a max accumulation so some guys had to take off every so often because they worked OT so much or theyd lose hours. Annoyed me a bit mainly because they didnt do their normal work during normal hours. I think I was getting just over a day of PTO every pay period.

Last place I worked at had a 7 points and you were gone policy. Unless you were female and could cry on demand. Then it was you can work here until some complains to the way high ups.
We also had such a high case of people calling off the instituted a thing that if you were full time and worked a full 2 week pay period without calling off or leaving early you got and extra $100 in your check. If part time it was $50.
We had one girl that could cry very easily and had 132 points before the higher ups caught on and fired her.
I went 38 pay periods without a call out or leaving early.
We had people come in and work 3 days and call off. Didn't take long to figure out they were coming in and working enough to get enough money for their next fix and then taking a day or 2 off.
One perk was the health insurance was great and cheap. My family plan was cheaper than my wife's single person plan, nd she worked at a hospital.
