By FAR the worst we have had in my almost 60 yrs. Total outages reported by our EMC . Like swamp said this will be well over a 6 digit claim . The right hand shift caused the right corner of the eye to pass over us . My outdoor weather was showing wind in the upper 70`s to lower 80`s before it spun the guts out of it . Thank you Lord for keeping us safe .

11 dead in Georgia. At least 1 dead in Florida.
115 structures in nearby Valdosta (20 miles west of me) that currently have people trapped inside.
All this from a news conference by Gov Kemp a few min ago.

It happens, the 38 hurricane here was a direct hit, thought to be the equivalent of a strong cat 3, destroyed the oyster industry, opened new inlets and changed the south shore of long island, old oystermen committed suicide.
But, a few years later we had a massive set of hard clams, everyone became clammers... inlets were stabilized which helped the offshore fishing opportunities, things change, but something else always fills in, just might take awhile.

Early morning weather was showing an update on this storm. What caught my eye was an outer band / arc of clouds still circling around the low pressure center. The arc that caught my eye originated in Atlantic off coast of Boston......passed over Boston......then over Toronto into Canada........then over Great Lakes..........and finally got to us in eastern MO. We are getting 15 mph wind......gusting to 20 to 25.......from N / NE. All that blowing still.
The amount of energy in that storm was / is pretty bizarre. Normally that fall apart pretty fast when they hit land. This one defies logic.

Can't speak for other states, but news in the news this morning was MO Rural Electric Coops have sent over 200 lineman to area to help rebuild. Suspect other states have as well. All were sent early, pre-positioned and ready to go when it passed. Can't fix this stuff overnight, but sounds like FL at least has a plan to get back to normal ASAP.

Georgia don't seem to have a plan.
Talked with one of my former game wardens this morning. He said he has 100 miles till his state truck is empty. Said command told him to find fuel wherever he could. No plan in place.

Its a State truck. They supply the fuel. Let them find the fuel. I would be at home taking care of my family.

Nephew is down there with his five crews. Conditions for those linemen aren’t ideal for safety, all of them could use a few prayers as well.
