I'm headed up to LaCrete Alberta on Sunday for a Moose, Bear and Wolf hunt for 10 day. It's a 24 hr drive up there. Anyone been up in that area. I really looking forward to going. I retired 4 months ago and this is something I wanted to do for yrs.

Wish me luck and like I always told my kids. Pray to the big horn gods for me.

Ah man..., sounds like a great " retirement " hunt.

Best of luck.

Sounds great. I would think you will be hunting the Peace river or close to it. Don’t forget your shotgun, there can be a lot of grouse depending on the cycle.
Pushing the drive unless there is a big town ahead they tend to close those gas stations a bit early, Indian owners, be prepared. I always use credit cards so if you do make sure your credit card people make the exchange rate difference. A lot of those gas stations won’t, with some excuse, if you pay cash.

Most importantly have your non resident firearm declaration filled out and spot on. Firearms easily accessible in your rig at the border. Follow the rules on how many rounds you can take over the border, don’t buy it up there.
Those roads up in the far end of the trip can get a bit iffy, plus night driving up there especially watch out for moose.

Have an awesome adventure!

Hope you kill all the critters you're after.
That would be an awesome hunt.
Excellent advice from Osky. Getting through the border can suck.
Even worse trying to get home.

La Crete is about two hours north of me the weather has been a bit warmer than normal but starting to cool off , we have been getting a lot of rain the last week or so and lots of wind, supposed to start freezing at night according to the forecast so conditions should be good for your hunt

I got back home early this morning from my Moose/Bear and Wolf hunt. It was a good hunt with good guts to be around. Temps were mid teens in the morning and mid 40's during the day. Never seen or heard a Wolf. Bears were getting ready to den up is what guides were saying. I did shoot a small Moose. Like I said was a good hunt and glad I did it.
