So, I know that to buy ginseng from a harvester or to harvest ginseng from certain public lands, in MN, you need a permit for that. But what about seeds?! It didn't look like there were rules about seeds on anything I was reading (other than if you harvest wild ginseng with berries you have to plant the seeds from it in the same area) but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some other rule. I wouldn't need a license or permit to just buy the seeds would I?

I'm also wondering about harvesting, and selling what's harvested to a licensed ginseng dealer. It didn't seem like anyone needed a permit for harvesting ginseng other than what I mentioned, but I'm a little confused about selling to ginseng dealers though. I assume harvesters (diggers) wouldn't need to have a ginseng dealer license or anything? I realize that's a little bit of a goofy question, but I wish the websites I looked at etc would be more specific explaining things so I don't get confused, lol.

Obviously I'm new to ginseng, just recently got interested hence the post. I really want to be sure I wouldn't be breaking any rules, cause accidentally breaking a rule because I didn't know something would give me a lot of anxiety.

Thanks in advance.
