After 72 hours on stand across 8 days, 3 different spots and a missed shot opening day, I punched my tag tonight on a 175 pound boar. My bait had been pretty cold the last couple weeks but got hit hard last night by a couple different bears. So I sat most of the day today through the heat, it was nearly 80 degrees out, down to my t shirt and had my pants rolled up to my knees to keep cool. He came in right at the last minute and after confirming he was alone, I stopped him at 90 yards and took a shot. He went down and got back up running into the woods. Shortly after I thought I heard the death moan, but after missing on opening day, you can imagine my relief when I saw the blood trail and the joy when I walked up on him 30 yards later. Waited 13 years for this tag and tomorrow was going to be my last day to hunt. I'm very happy with the overall experience.
