Yesterday I set DP traps by feeders on my lease which has a healthy population of coons that make a good living eating deer corn. I used shrimp on the bottom with hotdog threaded onto the trigger. In the cold months this is a killer combo. Last night the fire ants beat the coons to the bait. No coon will put his hand into a nest of fire ants. Other waiting until the ants go down, suggestions please.

You can try one of two things . Maybe get some apple or persimmon flavored corn and put in your sets.Or you can saturate your bait with cooking oil.

Put out Amdro ant bait a few days before and around your traps.
