Would that require moving in a rapid manner if you were downwind?

I get what you’re saying but fires burn out eventually, you’d make a better argument saying if Yellowstone popped off. We know the impact of mount St. Helen popping off. My take on bugging out is civil unrest and with that in mind my statements stand as is.

I think it is better to live and take out the other side for months on end than to die fighting a battle that you cannot win, and that also depends on circumstances.

The main point here is that a smart person is ready to go on a moments notice with some supplies that have been made ready prior....bug out bags so to speak. My crystal ball broke so I do not know what may or may not happen. I say be prepared to stay but also be prepared to go. Those supplies in the bags in the garage will be there if you stay....It would probably take someone a while to pack the things necessary to keep a family alive for a week. Your not going to do that in 5 minutes. Or, run out with nothing and become refugees at the mercy of fema...

These type things have happened in the usa this century..

I understand your position. For me I find it better to Coleus with my neighbors other than leaving to some place unknown.. I live on the northern plains, hiding out isn’t much of an option..lol

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
