Gary I won't see social security. The only benefit I will ever see from the money they Steel from me evert week is that my mother and father are getting their benefits.as of September 27th $6,945 27 In money paid in so far this year I will never see a dime of. if put in a Roth like account my life time I would actually have been way better off.
I'm not planning on receiving SS and saving and investing so I won't need it. But they still still from me every week. You'll see social security. If u do it will be a very reduced amount and long after I retire. Our country is broke spending more than they have it won't last it's unsustainable. Have you seen some fo the proposals they are floating ro shore it up? Like if your wealthy you won't be eligible to receive funds. OK so who and what will be considered wealthy? Save and invest your entire life live below your means to do so and pay in the max a year into ss just under the point they quit taking it out of your check and nope none for you or here I'd your 20% of what you were slated to get and you can't get anything tell your 75 if they raise the age again. so what's considered wealthy having 900k 1 million 2 mill 15 mill? Will that be net worth or money invested/ in the bank. Don't worry they will collapse markets and country with the things like raising capital gains and the unrealized capital gains crap . When people pull out of the US markets and stop investing becues ther is no point the country will fail.

In NE, Soc Sec says if you get $1200 a month you're good enough. If you work to make more, they reduce your SS. Who here makes it on $1200 a month?

"We use the following earnings limits to reduce your benefits: If you are under full retirement age for the entire year, we deduct $1 from your benefit payments for every $2 you earn above the annual limit. For 2024 that limit is $22,320. In the year you reach full retirement age, we deduct $1 in benefits for every $3 you earn above a different limit, but we only count earnings before the month you reach your full retirement age." 1200 a month before taxes would barely pay the insurance and tax man.

It's not what you make income wise as much as what your priorities are and how disciplined you are with it.

not sure when their last contract started but say it was January of 2020 they have seen around 30% inflation and if they figure it keeps going asking for 77% over 5 years knowing that it will be countered and they might actually see 45% , hard to blame someone for not wanting to work for less than the year before because they make 3% more each year and inflation is 7-9% more a year re: inflation: they should look in the mirror for the blame...they supported Biden and his reckless spending.
