I don't know if I could work like before, my one carpet machine weighs 110 lbs.I'm my wife's caretaker, she will need to improve on doing things herself.
I still make meals and help her dress and ect
Do you have to take meds for life now, like anti rejection drugs, and stuff?

my Great aunt had a valve put in in 2019 , it was like a day and night difference in her in just a week after I think her's was mechanical and it was put in like a stint her recovery time seemed very short.
she passed this summer but at 91 so she had a good run and everything basically wore out at once. in the end

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Unless you have other issues like artery blockage they can do it through your femoral artery out in 2 days very little recovery and for me no meds after 2 weeks.I think some valves you can't come up through the groin. This valve starts with an m, tech for ultrasound said it's an open heart surgery, I sure hope he was wrong Did they install anything to repair the valve?

I hope things go well, there is a pretty good weight restriction for a while, but if you follow the doctors advice you will heal good, I’d try to go to Mayo Clinic if you can they do really advanced stuff there.I looked up mitral valve repair, if heart is in good shape, and other things are ok they can do it with micro surgery. My classmate last winter they laid his heart over, replaced the two arteries on the back, then restarted heart. He said the mpls heart place was rated higher than mayo

I had my ascending aorta and aortic valve removed. Aorta is now made of Dacron and valve is Titanium. Three Teflon washers in there also. Procedure was done 33 years ago at the age of 41. Been on blood thinners ever since. Tested often for coagulation times. Ya it is a pain in the butt.
Got to see my children grown and now helping with grandchildren. Retired from job and still farming some. Trapped a lot of critters and shot some bull elk. Lived a lot of life in the last 33 years. Am getting tired now though. Going to look for a buck deer this weekend. Got some bucks in my fields, but will try and hunt a wild one.
Awesome it works well, I'll see what she has to say, I'm pretty sure they want a better look through the esophagus

Unless you have other issues like artery blockage they can do it through your femoral artery out in 2 days very little recovery and for me no meds after 2 weeks. That's called a TAVR (Trans Aortic Valve Replacement) and this is not an option for everyone. I had open heart surgery in 2020 to replace my aorta valve. A TAVR was not possible because my old valve was too calcified.

Its pretty incredible what is possible these days, you will be fine!
