Hey guys, where can a fella find some good quality coyote and bobcat urine? I'm talking pure, undiluted, gluten free (LOL ), stuff that doesn't smell like play-dough or stagnant sewer water.

What have you been using?

I can't help you with the bobcat urine, I've never bought any but it is a common theme on here that it is very hard to find. I've had good luck with Jameson's coyote urine, all that I've got from him has been good stuff like you describe (not sure if it is gluten free). I also had good luck with Reuwsatt's but I've had at least one person tell me that they got some stuff from him that wasn't up to par, plus I think he is getting out of the lure business.

I think all the larger trap supply places are kind of a crap shoot, I believe they all get their urine from multiple sources, and you might get good stuff from them once, and the next time get some that came from a different source (or possibly the same source, that didn't have enough to fill their order so they either cut it or through in some subpar stuff to fill out their order) that is no better than colored water.

The good news is the trapping community is pretty small and it shouldn't be to hard to find out who's collecting on the kind of scale to be selling it.
I collect my own.

What I've done, and it's taught me a lot, is buy and test the same lure ingredient from several different suppliers and let the critters tell me which ones were good.

I did offer awhile back if enough people wanted to chip in like 5 or 10 bucks I'd buy a bunch of different brands of urines, depending on how much $ was collected, and send to a chemical analysis lab here in town for analysis and share results with ones that chipped in but only had 2 takers...

I thought it would be intresting because my guess is a lot of the artificial stuff would show up from guys advertising the real stuff.

In Sioux Falls.
It's out there just gotta look for it.
Best thing to do is not use as any , like all the demo's
I go to they say it's hard to come by .

Save it as you catch'um

Pretty sure you can catch enough with the “fake” stuff to get you a good supply. I only use bobcat urine from cats I catch. Everything else is a deer magnet.

You use the fake stuff by itself or along with lures or baits

Both. If I’ve got the right spot a little squirt on the backing has caught. Not saying straight from the bladder isn’t better, just saying it’ll get you the opportunity at straight from the bladder. And even better, you won’t have to use any of that “fresh” on the remake cause it’s already reeking of coyote or fox or cat.

A big reputable supplier can have the good stuff one year, next stock is garbage. Changes all the time. John Heart was asking the same question at our wolf workshop.
There is a wolf breeder in Saskatchewan that I met in Sioux Falls that doesn’t utilize the full potential of his wolves. I might just reach out to him, or he can contact Ian at Dam Beaver to realize how much more $ he can get for his “livestock”

I opened a bottle of Jameson coyote urine that I have had for about 2 years . The coyote jumped out and licked me on the side of my cheek before I got the cap back on. Good enough ..

In my opinion, collecting your own on a small scale isn’t that bad if your laws allow it. Can’t be fooled by it if you do it yourself

I pretty much use all jameson coyote and fox urine now. Great stuff !!

Just spoke with him recently. I believe he just got rid of the last of his animals. He is doing full time predator control work now.
