Went this year for the first time - what a great experience! Symposium is the perfect word to describe the gathering and I really can’t speak highly enough about the efforts that Don and his crew put into making this event such a premiere venue for the trapping community. Nice video, TS!
Great video Todd! Very clear, concise and easy for even non-trappers to see that it was a fun event. Don, Candy and the crew worked hard to put on this top notch gathering.
here some pic, I took, I thought it was just about mink trapping, but it was so much more, the knowledge in trapping there was incredible, and everyone was willing to answer any questions
It was my first Minktoberfest and it was fantastic in every way. I guess you do not know what you are missing until you attend the event. It is so much more than you can describe. Better than any convention and school that I have attended and you can do whatever you want and bounce from area to area; talking to some of the best trappers in the country - who are all willing to share their experience and opinions. We observed several mink in their natural habitat for hours and that in itself was worth the trip.
I watched and had some interactions with Don Powell and found out that he is a humble, gracious, generous and soft-spoken host. I cannot imagine the amount of time and effort that it takes to put together an event of the magnitude of Minktoberfest. Many thanks to him and his wife and all those who helped them.

It was our (wife) first time there as well. Sure wished we would have had tman name tags as well. We had the camo golf cart. Great times and the steak was awesome.

I used to have superpowers… but a therapist took them away.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
Ack: the camouflaged pocket set you demo'ed got me to thinkin' on the long drive home. "I wonder if I can make it work with a snare?" Regular pocket sets don't. I always figured when fur prices are low it is a great time to experiment as there is not much to lose. Don always is such a gracious host. I am in awe of the amount of hours of planning that goes into this event.

My first time there also. It’s a must see if you never been there. I was amazed with the whole event. It was like one big family. Thanks to all that worked to put it together.
Thank you Todd for taking the time to take some clips. Wasn't that a great weekend! Time to cleanup and get ready for Oct2-5, 2025 > Everyone is welcome. We had reached our capacity so we have to limit our numbers for the coming year.
I'm glad you all made it to and from. I have some ideas for next year that may make it better. The main thing is I need good people to keep coming or there really isn't anything special about it.
