I got a pack of 285 lb. Break aways from Southern Snares and they’re black, look heavier, not the thin looking ones I’ve always seen. Anyone use these? Paired with the black steel single ferrules should I use a small washer between it and the break away? Didn’t see a questions spot on their website. Planning on trail snaring some for cats and want that break away working just in case.

I have used them with 1/16" 1x19 cable. In my experience, the cable breaks/ferrules slip before the break away opens up.

I rebuilt all the snares with Senneker 265lb break aways.

I would use a washer between the break away and ferrule.

Thank you. That’s the cable I’m using too. That’s why I bought the steel ends from them too as I though the aluminum stop buttons would slip.

on 1x19 youd need to double up on the aluminum stops
