I am a proponent of seat belts. I always, always wear my seat belt on highways and recommend all my trapping friends do the same.

That said, there are times while trapping or hunting with frequent stops on slow going rough roads where a seat belt is unnecessary, annoying and uncomfortable. And the seat belt alarm is equally annoying when you leave it off. For those times you need these:

My son got me these for Christmas a couple years ago and I love them.

Just remember to replace them with the seat belt when you get back on the higway.

United we stand.

Most vehicles there is a system of steps you can take to disable the seat belt buzzer, free of charge. You can google it for your vehicle.

For example, my truck you need to follow these steps...

1 – turn the key, but not all the way to start the engine.
2 – wait about 1 minute until seat belt warning light goes off. Once off, wait 5 more seconds before starting step 3.
3 – buckle and unbuckle the belt 3 times. End in unbuckled position. ...
4 – With the light on, buckle then unbuckle again.

I just went to the scrapyard and the guy told me to go cut one off a wreck for free.

I just bought a Subaru and the seatbelt alarms are brutal. Even backseat middle will scream at you if you don’t disable. Easy solution, just had to Google it and a YouTube video gave me a free 60-second method to shut them off. Gotta go through each seat location one-by-one but it works.

And I agree, always buckle up.

I can’t seem to drive without wearing one. I feel like I’m not wearing an article of clothing.
I can’t wear pajama bottoms either. Like as SOON as I get up I have to put jeans and a belt on. As if they’re holding me together.

I run it behind the seat on my current pickup. On my Fords I just shut it off like mentioned above

Same here. I always throw a bag or briefcase on the passenger seat and because of the weight, the alarm goes off so it is buckled all the time.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Yeah, when a dog sits over there it activates the alarm, so I keep the passenger seat buckled at all times as well.

My older lab, who is apparently very safety conscious, has taken to slipping underneath the shoulder portion of the belt.

I just stopped at my toyota dealer this morning and picked up a couple 6 inch extenders. Plug them in and no more beep. And, you can still buckle your belt when you want to. Toyota gives them out for free.

I won't move my truck without the seatbelt fastened!
