Puttering around in my trap shed and found this piece of metal. No idea where it came from or what it is.

5.25 inches long. 1/4 inch thick at the ends. I think it is cast but not 100% sure. Not aluminum or light weight metal. Couldn’t find any markings at all. Pictures show each side.

Can any one tell me what it is or what it was part of??

NOTE - I am 100% sure it is NOT a pig castrator!! LOL

This, more specific, it is a crosscut saw raker gage used when sharpening the saw to keep it even

Yuppers I think some folks called them gullet gauges too. But don't hold me to that.

Most educated ,sophisticated people consider trappers to be dumb slobs that only want to kill something And yet in my time as a member of this forum the knowledge all of you folks have stored in your brain has always been amazing It seems like any time some one has a question some one else is right there with the answer What an awesome resource this place is I learn more here than I do anywhere else And most of it actually something worth while

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.
